We are pleased to offer our SF50 VisionJet for solo dry lease from Oxford Airport. Our SF50 is configured for 5 seats. 1 pilot and 4 passengers. Onboard if needed are 5 headsets, 5 lifejackets and a life raft. Enough range with 2 POB and some baggage for 1000nm, Palma, Mallorca is just over 800nm. 4 POB and weekend bags gives enough range for 700nm, Avignon, France is 600nm from Oxford for example. Our aircraft is lovingly cared for and hangared at Oxford EGTK.  We run an online booking system for all pilots to view availability and request the use of the aircraft.  

The SF50 requires at type rating, pilot certification and requirements for operating the aircraft are as follows.  You must hold at least an FAA Private certificate, with instrument rating, SF50 type rating, with enough experience to satisfy the Supervised Operating Experience (SOE), insurance and WOW Aviation pilot criteria. The SOE is a mandatory 25 hours for all new pilots to the type, and an additional 25 hours will be required by the insurance and WOW Aviation depending on pilot experience and demonstrated ability.  If you are a resident in UK, you will also need to hold a UK CAA Private licence, with instrument rating and SF50 type rating. At the time of publishing (January 2024) the UK type rating is not available. Once it is available the rating will be required.

Assuming the initial certificates and licences are in place, the requirements for solo rental are as follows.

-Type Rating Knoxville USA £29,000 ($34,000). (2024) 

-25 hours Supervised Operating Experience(SOE) on SF50 with an approved mentor pilot.  

-WOW Aviation policy and our Insurance provider require a minimum of 50 hours on type before solo. (25 hour SOE included)

-Fuel, approximately £300-500 per flight hour, depending on where it's purchased.

-Landing and Handling fees, the aircraft is 2.7t, the fees vary from £30-£1000 depending on location.

Careful planning can keep those cost down while mentoring.

-Eurocontrol Airways Charges vary between £50-100 per flight hour in IFR conditions. These charges are included in the WOW Aviation SF50 dry lease rate.

-Flights and Accommodation in Knoxville Tennessee are additional to the type rating costs.

The type rating is an 8-10 day course over a 14-day period.

The SF50 is a type rated aircraft, which means a flight test every year. Recurrent training is also an important part of the operation of the aircraft. Currently performed at the Vision Centre in Knoxville at a cost of $10,000.
